PRESERVING SUMMER, NAILS

With August upon us, it won't be long before the leaves begin to change. As depressing a thought that is, why not preserve what summer we do have, so we can enjoy it later? An elegant and simple way of doing so is pressed flower nail art.

To do so, collect an assortment of tiny flowers. I find that the ones on the lawn (honeysuckle, those little yellow crown flowers) work well. Try to keep in mind that it needs to be very small.

Afterwards, acquire a large book and press the flowers. This is done by inserting a paper towel or tissue into the open book, spreading out the flowers, and closing it up. Make sure to envelope your flowers in a sandwich of tissue, or else the petals may stain the pages.

After waiting a while (a minimum of a week or two) you can apply your nail decals. To apply, simply coat the desired area in clear nail polish, and place with tweezers. Be sure to seal everything in with a coat or two of clear nail polish over the top.

The best part is that its free. Be sure to leave a comment if it helped.
